สมัยตอนเป็นนักศึกษาแพทย์ ผมเคยอ่านหนังสือชื่อ Medicine: The Forgotten Art? ของ C. Elliott Binn แล้วรู้สึกชอบมากในหลายช่วง หลายๆตอน เลยจดลงสมุดบันทึกไว้อ่านดู น่าเสียดายว่าไม่รู้ว่าผมไปทิ้งหนังสือไว้ที่ไหน ยังหาไม่เจอ และจำไม่ได้ด้วยว่าเนื้อหาในนั้นทั้งเล่มเป็นอย่างไร แต่รู้สึกชอบและถูกใจหลายตอนไว้ถ้าเจอเมื่อไรตั้งใจจะอ่านอีกรอบ

Medicine are not the answers
Medicines are not the answers to most illnesses, physical or psychological. The doctor’s way of giving (or not giving) a medicine is often as important as the medicine itself.
Face of the Patient
First he must examine the face of the patient to see whether it is like the face of healthy people and especially whether it is like its usual self.
However quick and neat the doctor is he never fail to look at the patient, and it is extraordinary how often this simplest of examinations is forgotten. An observant doctor will often make a diagnosis before the patient sits down, especially if he knows the patient quite well. An unobservant doctor will be looking at his desk or prescription pad, which will teach him nothing.
